Thanks so much for working with my family all these years and for understanding our family dynamics so well. I appreciate your logical and conservative approach to cutting the trees more than you can imagine.”

Kuiu Gate 1 Project Plan #AG-0116-P-12-0109 Final Remarks
On July 11th, 2013, Cliff Barnhart of Stuntzner Engineering and Forestry presented their final presentation to the Petersburg Ranger District with regards to the Kuiu Project Plan (encompassing 3 VCU’s located on the northern extent of Kuiu Island). Cliff’s presentation summarized all inspection items of the contact located under Section B “Schedule of Items” which included the following…….
As COR, I would like to take this time to provide feedback with regards to their performance. Developing a working professional relationship with Stuntzner, I believe, contributed to the successful outcome of this contract. When referring to my contract email folder, I note dozens and dozens of messages and phone conversations between myself and Cliff documenting a desire by Cliff to understand exactly what the Forest Service was seeking in a final product. Our communication was nothing less than professional and void of emotion…………
Cliff’s demeanor is one of laid back, professionalism, contributing to a development of trust in Cliff’s best judgment towards developing a quality product. Cliff’s final report and presentation was professional, and easy to understand. The product that Stuntzner Engineering has provided to the Forest Service, in my professional opinion, is a solid foundation from which to work from, and helps the Petersburg Ranger district make a quality decision for future management activities. The district now has the blueprint for developing an action plan with future project development on Kuiu Island thanks to Stuntzner and Cliff’s work.”
Stephen Lombard COR / Petersburg Ranger District, Tongass National Forest
The top priority in this sale transaction for me and the Board of Directors has been to be extremely careful and to make no mistakes. This deliberate and cautious approach should give us a lasting error free outcome that respects the significant financial values involved and honors the stewardship legacy of the tree farm and its founders Robert and Anna, which produced those values. I am deeply grateful to Ron Stuntzner and associates, Tom Hoyt and associates, Kendra Steph and Kristine Johnson and associates, Dani Pohl and associates and the good people at Amerititle for their professionalism and great help and excellent advice throughout the process.”
Stephen Mealey President, Mealey Timber Company
City Councilor Mike Vaughan was very pleased with the tour today. He passed along to the City Manager that you answered all his question, he thinks you did a great job on the tour, that you know what you are doing, and he believes Stuntzner Engineering & Forestry is leading us in the right direction regarding management of our forest lands.
Thanks for the great tour today. Mike and I both learned a lot.”
Jim Hossley Public Works Director / City of Coos Bay
He (Brian Flavin, Curry County Surveyor) was at your presentation Thursday on PG (Pacific Gales) and he said you were AWESOME! Great Work !”
Paul Smith Officer at 3D Timber
Over the years I have appreciated the support you have provided to me, first in my capacity as a timberland investment officer in the insurance industry, and second in my capacity as representative of a small family tree farm business. Two things have consistently distinguished you from your competition: quality of your work, and genuine interest in and attention to your client’s interests. Another particularly significant accomplishment is that you have successfully risen to the challenge of valuing a tightly held professional services firm and happily passing on ownership to successors. I don’t think I know any others who have done this as well as you have. Congratulations!”
Jerry Behm
I started working with Dick Verboort and when he joined with Stuntzner Engineering I found them to have knowledgeable experience. They are professional yet easy to work with. No half done jobs. These people complete the jobs with good results. Working with Stuntzner Engineering has been pleasurable and rewarding to myself and to my clients.”
Bob Bailey Northwest Vineyard Service
Stuntzner Engineering supplied the connection between the property owner and the county to deliver all the documents necessary so the property owner could build a home on the property. To try and do the work yourself would drive you crazy. There are too many details that Stuntzner knows and the layman will miss.
All four of the people at Stuntzner that I interfaced with were very knowledgeable and friendly. Everything was completed quickly.
Yes! I would recommend Stuntzner. As I said, the layman will miss details that cause frustration and delay, while Stuntzner’s staff will move along smoothly.”

(Stuntzner Engineering) as a resource, as a go to person, doesn’t just meet, but exceeds my clients’ requirements. (Their) expertise and experience is a most valuable resource and his relationship with the local jurisdictions expedites the process to completion.”

Each of you was an excellent witness at our recent trial. There is no question that the careful and thorough professional and scientific analysis you presented was the basis for our victory.”
John L. Langslet Attorney / Martin, Bischoff, Templeton, Langslet & Hoffman, LLP
To Ralph Dunham and others at Stuntzner who worked on the FEMA approval for a house to be built by Dennis and Gail Cook in Allegany.
As you are aware we were told a total of three times that a house could not (be) built there. We so much appreciate your work and your efforts to hold down the engineering costs and make to(sic) the project possible. We were told once that the engineering costs would be prohibitive and make the project financially impossible. Our extended family will be forever grateful to you.
I don’t know if you were aware of the purpose of this house. We ourselves, our son and daughter, will use the house to take care of foster children (we have three now) as well as our present five grandchildren. Our daughter, Aimee, has an unwavering life mission to care for children. We are building this big house in support of this mission and may someday also branch out into housing and caring for pregnant your women. God Bless you for the part you played in this mission.”

Thank you so much for helping us get started here! You and your tremendous crew were so great to us and we will always be grateful for that.”
Cam Perry, Coos County Commissioner
I wish to take a moment to thank you both for helping my client. Somebody had to do this, and I recognize that you both stepped up to the plate. We all have other work, and it’s quite tempting to pass on projects which appear to have a high risk ratio. Anyway, I am grateful for your assistance, and I will remember your kindnesses, and your willingness to take this on. I hope your memory of this project is that I helped keep the City and the neighbor on a productive footing – to protect you, and let you get your jobs done with minimal interference.
I’d be honoured to be one of your references if that would be helpful to you in future work.”
Robert S. Miller III Attorney
With the help of such a detailed survey report, we were able to prove that our property is above the current Washington County flood elevation. When the survey report was given to Washington County, they admitted their survey reports were not as accurate or as detailed as what we had brought in. Therefore they accepted the report without question.
Thank You for helping to achieve our goal.”
Dave and Leann Davis Land owner
To whom it may concern:
A company is only as good as the people you work with.
Knowledge in the area of land use laws or water rights and working together with county or state agencies to an acceptable solution in preparation of a master plan for development or contractors establishment for our Farm Park rural industrial site surrounded by EFU – a most difficult rural land use classification.
We are most thankful to Eric Urstadt, PE, PLS. His professionalism and communication skills with the Washington County Commissioners and the Land Use Department officials to win final approval on the Type II commercial master plan for our company within our rural industrial EFU district is very commendable.
We also include our thanks to Dick Verboort and Bill Flatz, PE, CWRE; to keep us in good standing with OWRD-Oregon Water Rights Dept. On updated water rights on our many tax lots we own, the wells we use for the irrigation for our nursery stock including the run-off permits, and the drawings required for drainage hazard area approved within our nursery and for the protection of public roads and streams.
- Stuntzner Engineering staff knows what they are doing and do it well and timely.
- Although not inexpensive, they are fair and reasonable for the quality work they provide.
- There is a high degree of professionalism in the company which allows us, the clients to feel appreciated and well cared for with an assurance that any unforeseen project issues will be resolved considerately and confidentially.
With many thanks, Alfred Meisner, President”

The City of Forest Grove has worked with Eric Urstadt and the Stuntzner Engineering staff on a variety of projects within the City of Forest Grove. We have found Stuntzner to be effective, responsible, and responsive as professional engineers. They have shown great attention to small details and issues that have potential to become larger and more costly problems during construction. I would recommend Eric (and staff) for most any engineering project within the City of Forest Grove privately or publicly funded.”
Rick Vanderkin Project Engineer / City of Forest Grove
North Bend High School has been lucky enough to work with Stuntzner Engineering on a number of projects over the last 10 years. We have always considered ourselves fortunate to have a relationship with a local company that doesn’t just do the job to get it done, but puts in a lot of time to make sure the job is done right. Integrity, hard work, and quality are always at the top of the list when I have dealt with [Stuntzner Engineering] on projects here at school. The facilities at North Bend High School are among the very best in the state, and much of that is due to the help and guidance we have received from the crew at Stuntzner Engineering. They have also been great supporters of our athletic programs for a number of years, and are always willing to help us out in times of need. When we have a project that needs to get done in the future, Stuntzner Engineering will be first ones that we call.”
Mike Forrester North Bend High School Athletic/Activities Director
I had the pleasure of working with Chris Hood over the course of about three months this year….We needed to do a property line adjustment and get it done during the 90 day due diligence period so as to not jeopardize the property sale….Throughout the process, Chris never tired or let us down. He was both positive and realistic. He always made time for us and followed through. In part I imagine this is a reflection of his knowledge, experience and years in the business not to mention knowing the right people and having the people skills and political correctness to successfully navigate the systems….It was truly a pleasure working with Chris throughout the process.”

I have always been impressed with Bryan Rohl (‘s) knowledge of cruising – but as an old cruiser, this one really impresses me. I don’t know of any other cruiser that would have strip cruised this property. Far and away the best option for this small irregular shaped parcel. To nail down not only the total volume, but also by species is very impressive.

I am very pleased with the service of his (Ron Stuntzner) team on this account, and am glad to be doing business with Stuntzner again. Ron was responsible for assisting my family in a subdivision of family property in Charleston in about 2002 and did a wonderful job for us.
