Proud founders since 1968
Ron and Joyce Stuntzner founded Stuntzner Engineering & Forestry in 1968, just four years after receiving their Baccalaureate degrees from Oregon State University in 1964; Ron in Forest Engineering and Joyce in Home Economics Education. While Joyce entered the teaching profession, Ron became a professional logging engineer in both Oregon and Washington. In 1977 Ron became an Oregon Professional Land Surveyor then added a Certified Water Rights Examiner certificate and a Registered Professional Forester in California to his growing list of credentials.
Recognizing the need for multiple disciplines to effectively serve the diverse demands of timber and land ownership clients (large and small) in Oregon, Washington, and Alaska, Ron and Joyce decided to bring in highly-skilled professionals in the critical fields of forestry, engineering, land surveying and planning, effectively creating a multi-faceted professional team of experts to handle those needs.
Eventually Joyce left teaching to be a full-time partner with Ron in the company they founded. She masterfully helms the office administration, keeping everything and everyone organized, both internally and externally.
Throughout the years, Stuntzner has maintained a reputation as a superior company within the industry. With Ron’s foresight and Joyce’s skillful management of resources, their vision of creating a successful engineering and forestry company has been rewarded with a company that continues to excel after more than four decades of service.
Ron’s specialties are in forest land management, harvest unit and road layout, logging engineering and transportation system planning, timber cruising and appraisal, economic feasibility studies, cadastral surveying, and general consulting. He is well known in the industry as the guy that can get things done.
Ron and Joyce have developed and encouraged a family atmosphere that cares about its employees and clients. Stuntzner promotes educational development of employees and provides excellent benefits to attract and retain the best people. They have also continually given back to communities that are served. From donations to charity, involvement in professional organizations, mentoring of students, education classes to the public and other professionals, Ron and Joyce have developed a firm that supports the surrounding communities and individuals that make our communities great.
Outside the office, Ron and Joyce spend many hours involved in community and professional activities. They are avid golfers and Oregon State University athletic events supporters. They like to travel, tend to their small woodland, and play with their grandkids.
